Soul Care
Engaging the Spiritual Disciplines
A Study on Nurturing Your Relationship with God
This course explores how to care for your soul through intentional spiritual disciplines. While Jesus’s teachings often point to eternity, this study emphasizes that caring for your soul is also essential in the here and now. Your soul is where you and God dwell together—it’s your identity, your foundation, and the heart of your relationship with Jesus.
Why Soul Care Matters
Following Jesus means tending to our first love—our relationship with Him. Just like a farmer clears rocks from the soil to prepare for planting, we are called to prepare our hearts for God’s work. Our soul requires continuous care, and this study encourages you to invest deeply, intentionally, and continuously.
Key Concepts
What is the Soul?
The soul is the essence of who we are—our innermost being that connects us with God. It existed before we were born and continues after this life.
What is Soul Care?
Soul care is the intentional act of nurturing our relationship with God. It’s about caring for the real “you” by investing in practices that strengthen your walk with Him.
Discipline as a Journey
The spiritual disciplines we explore are repeated practices—daily, weekly, or monthly. They help us open our hearts to Jesus and prepare for the transformation only God can bring.
Spiritual Transformation
Transformation isn’t something we achieve by effort. Instead, it’s a divine process that happens when we prepare the soil of our lives for God’s work.
For the Sake of Others
Spiritual growth isn’t only personal. It also equips us to reflect Christ to others, extending His love and grace through our relationships.
